Evergreen cacti and their rare blooms have always mesmerized me. Since I cannot truly immerse myself among them to admire their beauty up close, I zoom in when I paint -drawing them nearer, as if they are almost approachable. A quiet fantasy.
Painted with a knife in thick impasto, creating rich texture and pronounced relief.
