Another painting from my Cacti series. As with my other prickly pear paintings, I zoom in to focus on the subject. To avoid distraction, I detach it from its background, creating a sense of extreme proximity. The painting feels immersive, giving the impression that you could almost nestle inside it.
Painted with a knife in impasto, creating rich texture and relief.
